Google Webmaster Tools API: Alessandro Catorcini and Rajesh Srivastav of Bing discuss Bing’s API and webmaster tools. Alessandro Catorcini and Rajesh Srivastav, both of Bing, discuss Bing’s search engine usability with John Mulligan, SEO-PR at SES San Jose 2009. Alessandro first discusses Bing’s API. It is open to everyone to use and all they have to do is go to www.bing.com and register for their application ID and immediately begin using all of Bing’s products to call its API. Allessandro also cites one example of how companies are creative in using Bing’s API. For example, Career Builder, uses the content of Bing’s search engine to enrich the information that they provide to recruiters about a candidate. Rajesh discusses tools that Bing has created for webmasters. Rajesh says transparency is the number one goal for Bing with the webmaster community. Rajesh says Bing has features such as the outbound and backlink functionality you won’t find in other webmaster tools. Rajesh also touts webmaster portal and webmaster area as a great place for Bing to get feedback from webmasters.
